ॐ चतुर्बाहवे नमः - The Form Most Natural to Bhagavan Shree Vishnu!

I have written about Lord AshtaBhuja Narayana today and while scrolling through "Shree Vishnu-SahasraNam" stumbled upon the Mantra of ChaturBhuja Narayana!

Yes, a mystic coincidence, so a little post about Shree ChaturBhuja Vishnu as the follow-up:

"Shree Vishnu-SahasraNam", Mantra No. 772:

ॐ चतुर्बाहवे नमः - OM chaturbAhave namaH

Tika by Shree Parashara Bhatta Acharya:

व्युहमुलेन निरुपाधिक-पररुपेण देवक्यामवततार इति चतुर्बाहुः

vyuhamulena nirupAdhika-pararupeNa devakyAmavatatAra iti chaturbAhuH

"The source of the Vyuhas or Emanations is the Para-Rupa (The Highest Transcendental Form) and It was in this Form which is natural to Him that He took birth from Devaki.

Both in the Para and Vyuha Rupas Bhagavan Shree Vishnu has 4 Arms and It was in this Four-Armed Form that He was born of Devaki. When she saw that Form, she at once prayed to Him:

सा हि एनमाह - sA hi enamAha

उपसंहर सर्वात्मन् रूपमेतच्चतुर्भुजम्।
जानातु माऽवतारं ते कंसोऽयं दितिजन्मजः||
upasaMhara sarvAtman rUpametachchaturbhujam|
jAnAtu mA.avatAraM te kaMso.ayaM ditijanmajaH ||

"The Inner Soul of all beings! Please withdraw this 4-Armed Form within Yourself. Let not this Kamsa that belongs to the asura race know that you are the Avatara of Vishnu" [Shree Vishnu-Purana", 5.3.13, see the similar Pramans from "Shreemad-Bhagavatam", 10.1.2 and further]
