Leech (Sayujya-Moksha example)

Whenever we talk about Sayujya-Moksha, we always set as an example the Words of Om VishnuPad Ramanuja-Acharya about
green bird and green forest.

Yesterday, looking through the book about Shaiva-Siddhanta  (the book itself is not good, as it contradicts to PanchaRatra and mentions some ridicule attempts to refute orthodox Vaishnava Notions), I have found very amazing example with leech.

By the way, in Russian leech sounds as "Piyavka". In Russian language word "piyavka" originates from word "pit'" (to drink). So, the example with drinking leech is rather impressive, as all the Bhakti-jivas are destined to drink the Bliss-Nectar from The Lips of Bhagavan Shree Krishna.

The excerpt from the book:

The conception of Moksha according to Sayana, the Taittiriya Aranyaka admits:

(a) That Moksha consists in the jiva’s having pratistha in the Brahman who is imperceptible.

(b) That Pratistha means the firmness of the thought of identity of the individual and the universal or the  realisation that the Brahman is the very self of one's own self.

(c) That the person who knows the identity of the Ananda that is the individual with that which is the Brahman, slowly gets union with the Brahman, The Ananda (Upasanakramati).
The word "Sankramana" implies strong union, similar to that which a leech has with a living organism from which the blood passes into it. (Sankramanam nama drdhasamyoga-rupapratih Jaluka trne samkramatityadau tatha drstatvat).
Here Sayana seems to use the word "Trna" (तृण -  tRNa - grass) in a special sense.
Another implication of this analogy is that, just as leech gets on a piece of grass without leaving the place from which it gets on, so the individual gets related to the Universal, but does not give up the individuality.

Some remarks about the book by Vishnudut1926: This book has rather good synopsis of Shaiva-Siddhanta. For example, the synopsis of the system of malas and etc.

First 70 pages are just biographies, so you can miss. The rest was run by me in speed reading mode, but the leech example to which I have dedicated this post was very useful.

I have missed the second part of the book, as it is of no interest for me.

Rather good speed reading for strengthening other Siddhantas' knowledge (as any tantric vaishnava should know Shakta and Shaiva Siddhanta as well).

The book itself has mentioning of pundits hostile to Vaishnava-Acharyas, so it will never be in my library, just link to scribd.
