Shakti-Mantra of the week

This is the Name 333 of "Shree Lalita-SahasraNam".
ॐ वारुणीमदविह्वलायै नमः
OM vAruNImadavihvalAyai namaH

Tika by BhaskaraRaya MahAcharya: Varunimat - belonging to
the regions of Varuna, i.e. AdiShesha, The 1000-Hooded Snake, because He dwells in that region.

Avinhala - not perturbed or fatigued, i.e. by Her Grace AdiShesha is not fatigued in supporting the Universe.

It is said in "Shree Vishnu-Purana": "In the Varuna regions He (AdiShesha) worships Devi with His Own Glorious Body".

Varuni - the juice extracted from dates called Varuni, because the demigod Varuna is fond of it. The expression means forgetting external objects and simply enjoying (literally "chewing") Sva-Atma-Ananda.

Or Varunimat, those who conquered the Varuninadi and became firm (Avihvala).

The Yoga Shastra says: "Varuninadi is that which is above and below going everywhere. Pushan is the deity of the quarters and Vayu is the deity of this varuni (nadi)"

Simple Tika by Swami Vimalananda: "Salutations to Her Who is Intoxicated with date wine, which here stands for the Joy of Bliss that is the realization of The Highest Divinity as one's own self (see also Name 878 of "Shree Lalita-Sahasranam").

Again Varuniman means Ananta-Naga Who perpetually supports the world without fatigue of agitation.

Similarly the Mother of the worlds also does Her Functions calmly and with ever fresh Mind".
