Tika from SADAGOPAN's edition: "Salutations to Swamy Desikan, who reminded us that Rudhra bhakthan cannot gain Moksham directly unlike VishNu bhakthan
PramANam: Brahmaa and Rudhran bless their BhakthAs with Jn~Anam conducive to Moksham and therefore become the kaaraNams for Moksham.
The phalan of worshipping Sooryan in seven JanmAs make one a Rudhra Bhakthan; continuation of worship of Rudhran in seven JanmAs will make one a VishNu Bhakthan, who becomes eligible for moksham directly.
Thus Rudhra Bhakthi is the reason for becoming a VishNu Bhakthan".
