Simple Narasimha-Sadhana (99-Syllable Narasimha Mantra + Narasimha Kavacha)

Narasimha-Sadhana is to be resorted to when various Mars afflictions are approaching; for the protection from black magic, pishachas, bhutas and etc; against snakes, Sharpa-doshas particularly; evil dreams; poverty and etc.

If you are interested in removing all the Navagraha Doshas see the Upadesha from The Verse 28 of "Shree Narasimha-Kavacha":

"तिलकं विन्यसेद्यस्तु तस्य ग्रहभयं हरेत् | त्रिवारं जपमानस्तु दत्तं वार्यभिमन्त्र्य च - Having marked ones body with Tilaka, taking Achamana with water, and reciting this Mantra (Kavacha) 3 times, one will find that the fear of all inauspicious planets is removed."

From Bhakti point of view, Narasimha Sadhana is aimed at the removing various Bhakti-obstacles, such as bad health (at reasonable rate, of course, if you are in the terminal stage of cancer, then Mantras will be of no help, because some part of prarabdha karma is impossible to eradicate), tamasik aptitude and etc.

CRUCIAL 01 - Mantras + Kavacha: I do believe that Mantras don't work at all without Kavachas.

For example, if you recite The Ashtakshara Mantra of Bhagavan Shree Narayana, you HAVE TO recite "Shree Narayana Kavacha" every day. The same rule applies to The Mantras of Bhagavan Shree Narasimha.

CRUCIAL 02 - No tamas: Never use Narasimha-Mantras for
the destruction of people and etc.

Bhagavan Shree Vishnu never accepts Tamasika-Bhakti. Black magic and causing pain to other people is TOTALLY forbidden in Vaishnava Bhakti.

If you try to use Narasimha-Mantras, bearing evil and tamasik tendencies in your mind, you will be destroyed and your life will be ruined.

CRUCIAL 03 - Mandala (40-48 days rule): People always wish for the immediate effect of the Mantras and Kavachas, but it always takes some time for Mantras and Kavachas to manifest Their Power.

Usually, the notion MANDALA is used (Mandala=40 or 48 days). Only after 40-48 days the changes will be manifested.

CRUCIAL 04 - Every day recital: Vaishnava-Mantras and Kavachas is not something you can just recite for example for 20 days and then leave.

The worst variant if you recite from time to time (for example, 4 times a week only). In all the above cases, The Mantras and Kavachas won't have any effect at all.

See the Verse 25  of "Shree Narasimha-Kavacha": "एकसन्ध्यं त्रिसन्ध्यं वा यः पठेन्नियतो - ekasandhyaM trisandhyaM vA yaH paThenniyato - One who regularly chants This Prayer..."

The only plausible reason for which you can exclude Vaishnava Mantras / Kavachas from your sadhana is that you resort to Other Vaishnava Mantras / Kavachas.

CRUCIAL 05 - All The Vaishnava-Upayas are designated for Vaishnavas ONLY (see the Verse 20 in "Shree Narasimha-Kavacha", this Verse says: "भक्तिमान् यः पठेन्नित्यं - bhaktimAn yaH paThennityaM - A bhakta who reads...).

Essentially, the following sadhana is ONLY FOR VAISHNAVAS.

This warning is for the people who just wandering in Internet searching for astrological upayas, powerful Mantras and etc.

Bhagavan Shree Narayana says in all the Vaishnava Agamas (and in "Shree Parama Samhita", especially) that HE Helps ONLY to His bhaktas.

If you just search for the Mantra to test or just to use as an astrological upaya being non-Vaishnava, then The Mantras will be TOTALLY INEFFECTIVE for you.

Now, The Mantra. The following 99-Syllable Mantra is very incredible and was found by me at Sanjay Rath site by accident (after encountering this Mantra, I have decided to write this article about Bhagavan Shree Narasimha Sadhana)  - http://srath.com/spirituality/jagannath-viṣṇu/avataravan-nṛsiṁha-mantra/
Incredible क्ष्रौं-Bija + Mantra Worship of 9 Avatars of Bhagavan Shree Vishnu. This is The Most Incredible, Powerful and Stern Mantra I have ever encountered.
Dhyana: The same as in the below "Shree Narasimha-Kavacha" in The Verses 1-7.
Beads: Shreemati Tulasi Devi or beads from precious stones of red colour (red coral, agate, rubies and etc.)

The Kavacha is very simple, only Verses 1-20 must be recited IN SANSKRIT (english, mlechha language, is totally unsuitable and misfit for Vaishnava Mantras and Kavachas).
The rest (Verses 21-31) is just Phala-Shruti, which usually is not recited.
