The meeting of Shreemati Bhumi-Devi and Bhagavan Shree Varaha...

VERY ROMANTIC EPISODE FROM "SHREE VENKATACHALA-MAHATMYA" (VAISHNAVA-KHANDA OF "SHREE SKANDA-PURANA")!

"Shree VenkatChala-Mahatmya", 1.27-29: "In the meantime there arose the sound of the divine Dundubhi drum. Thereafter there came Goddess Earth (Shreemati Bhumi-Devi) accompanied by Her Sakhis.

She was exceedingly brilliant with Her robes in the form of the oceans abounding in gems and jewels.

She bent under the weight of Her Breasts in the form of Sumeru and Mandara.

She was Dark in complexion like fresh leaves of durva grass. She was adorned in all ornaments".

"Shree VenkatChala-Mahatmya", 1.30-33: "Shreemati Bhumi-Devi was accompanied by Her friends Ila and Pingala.
Then (Goddess) Earth scattered at the Feet of Lord Sri Varaha a big collection of flowers brought by them.
After this Shreemati Bhu-Devi bowed down to the Lord of the Chiefs of Devas (Shree Varaha) and stood there with Her Palms joined in reverence.

Sri Varaha embraced that Goddess and placed Her in His lap. With His mind exceedingly pleased the Lord enquired about the happiness and welfare of Earth".

Lazy autumn, "Shree Skanda-Purana" and back to English-Hindi content

There will be a lot of cites from #"Shree Skanda-Purana"# in my blog in this season.

The reason is that this autumn I have a lot of lazy typically autumn mornings during which I read "Shree Skanda-Purana" for an hour just cosseting lazily in bed and warming under the blanket!

I am writing out the most remarkable excerpts from "Shree Skanda-Purana" to my turquoise moleskine, so the idea flashed - "why not to make series of posts dedicated to Vaishnava-Khanda of Skanda-Purana for my blog?"

So from now on a number of "Skanda-Puraned and Vaishnaved" posts (sorry for my English, HAHAHAHAHA) will appear!

Yes, and blog is back to English-Hindi content (as you remember the summer was entirely dedicated to my Russian translations of "Shree Rahasya-Ratnavali-Hridayam" by OM VishnuPad Vedanta Desika MahAcharya)....

How to change hotkeys in SynWrite

#"SynWrite"# is my favourite text editor, especially for post-OCR processing, but it has a rather tricky system of hotkeys assigning via "F1" and "F9" keys.

For example, I would to like to assign "Join lines" (eliminates breaks in text) to "Shift+Ctrl+U"

"Join lines" can be found in
