"Shree Radha-Rasa-Sudha-Nidhi", Verses 12-14

Verse 12: "When will Vrindavana's Queen Radha, Her Eyes restless with Love and Her limbs like waves in the flooding ocean of nectar, place Her Merciful Glance upon me?"

Verse 13: "O Queen of Vrindavana, I take shelter of Your Lotus Feet, which are flooded with nectar, which are cool and pleasing, and which, placed over Lord Krishna's Heart, extinguish the blazing fire of desire that torments Him".

Verse 14: "I pray that my heart may find its happiness in Radha's pastime forest, where the vines bear flowers picked by Radha's Own Hands, where many charming places bear Radha's Footprints, and where the birds passionately sing of Radha's Glories".

Hayavadana is none other than Para Vasudeva of Shri Vaikuntha...

"Shree Hayagriva-Stotram" by OM VishnuPad Vedanta Deshika, Mantra 004:

"MAY THE FORM OF VASUDEVA WITH THE FACE OF A HORSE, NAMED LORD OF SPEECH, WHICH CONSTITUTES THE UNIQUE EASTERN TWILIGHT FOR THE NIGHT OF DARKNESS IN OUR HEARTS, WHICH IS AN UNRIVALLED SACRED COLLYNUM FOR THE EYE OF KNOWLEDGE, AND WHICH RECITES THE VEDAS - MAY THAT FORM EVER SHINE WITHIN AND BEFORE ME"

Explanation  by L. Shrinivasan: "After having prayed for true knowledge, Desika now prays for the gift of words through this sloka, so that, equipped with knowledge and power of speech, he can extol the Lord and His auspicious attributes.

This is the reason why he invokes Him as Vageesha or Lord of Speech.

Hayagriva's Grace not only does away with our ignorance, but it also serves as a collyrium to increase our knowledge.

Ordinary collyrium, a kind of black paste, serves to improve the sight of the material eye. A special type of the same is said to enable persons to locate hidden treasures. The collyrium in the form of the splenderous shape of Hayagriva helps us to uncover the undisclosed treasure of right knowledge.

It is also made clear to us that Hayavadana is none other than Para Vasudeva of Shri Vaikuntha, to dispel the possible doubt whether, like Gajanana, the elephant-headed god, Hayagriva is also a minor deity".

But as Hayagriva Puja by ShriVaishnavas...

Exception to the Rule

The Avatara of Hayagriva was on the full moon day in the Tamil month of Avani in the star Sravana.

It is the rule and tradition for Vaidikas to refrain from reciting the Vedas on full moon days, but an exception is made in the case of the full moon day in Avani because it is the day of the Avatara of Hayagriva.

On that day the Adhyayana Ноmа is performed and the recital of Vedas is started for beginners.

Maha Navami

The ninth day of Navaratri is called Maha Navami and is usually celebrated as Sarasvati Puja by others, but as Hayagriva Puja by ShriVaishnavas, since Hayagriva is the lord of learning and Sarasvati and others derive their greatness as patrons of learning only because of The Grace of Hayagriva.

Aksharabhyasa of children is generally undertaken on this auspicious day.

Hayagriva in the Vedas...

In the Sama Veda, in the portion relating to Udgita Vidya (one of the 32 Vidyas mentioned in the Upanishads for meditation on Brahman), Lakshmi Hayagriva is clearly indicated.

There are many passages in the Rig Veda praising Him, like the Vagabrini Suktam. In the context of Brahma Yajna, His Greatness is declared in the Yajur Veda.

The Santikam and Paushtikam, two great divisions of the Atharva Veda, adumbrate the glory of Hayagriva.

The portion called Apratiratha in the Rig Veda, relating to overcoming obstacles, has been held to refer wholly to Lord Hayagriva by Rishis in Kalpa Sutras.

There is an independent Upanishad named after Hayagriva and relating to Him.

That seers like Angiras and Atharva meditated on Hayagriva and obtained various fruits from Him is news contained in the Veda itself. Sage Dadhichi was likewise His devotee.

When Yajnavalkya prayed to the Lord that he should intuit portions of the Veda not known to others, the Lord appeared before him in the form of a horse (as Hayagriva) and fulfilled his desire.

13 сборников "Woman Trance Voices"...

Synopsis in English: Today I am resting from complicated Sanskrit/Hindi Granthas, just scrolling through retro-issues of Kalyana-Kalpataru (1932th year!!!) and listening to 13 Volumes of "Woman Trance Voices" (energy, prog and uplifting trance with female vocals) all the time.

As a shakta-girl I could not imagine better female song gift from Our Precious Ishwari Shreemati MahaLakshmi-Devi for this spring!

🍋🌼🌸🌼🍇🍨

Suanda Records:

Agonizing and obviously painful...

ANOTHER GREAT CITE FROM "VAIRAGYA" ARTICLE BY JAYADAYAL GOYANDKA:

"Vairagya via sadhana. When a practicant, as a result of regular sadhana, begins to experience an ecstasy of Divine Love, and The Light of Divine Wisdom begins to dawn on his mind, his mind is automatically drawn away from all sensuous objects.

All sorts of worldly enjoyments now appear to him as obviously painful and consequently a hindrance in the way of God-realization.

In the eyes of such a practicant, wife and children, etc., who look so attractive and delighting to a worldly-minded man, are contemptible and agonising.

Wealth and possessions, beauty and youth, cars and conveyances, position and dignity, pomp and show, luxury and decoration, all appear to him as a pestilence, and he regards their association as a source of greater bondage and misery and, in fact, more detestable than a stinking dark dungeon".

Maya of his Master...

When the aspirant has realized God, he automatically ceases to have any interest in the various objects of the world, as they now appear to him tasteless and illusive.

Then he sees no substance in anything except the all-pervading Divine principle.

Just as water ceases to appear in the mirage as soon as one comes to know that it is mirage; just as to one who has woke up from sleep and recognized the dream to be a dream, the world of the dream ceases to appear as real even when called to mind.

Similarly, the worldly objects no longer appear as substantial and real to a seer of the essence of things.

A beautiful garden conjured up by a clever sorcerer captivates the hearts of all others; but the boy with the magician, who is in the know of the secret, is not led away by it, knowing it to be illusive and false.

No doubt, he is immensely delighted to see the Maya of his Master, who is the controller of that Maya. Similarly, one who has acquired the type of Vairagya shown above is not led away by worldly enjoyments.

Such a person does not recognize even the existence of any object of sense—enjoyment; how, then, can he mistake it to be attractive or delightful? Such a person alone becomes eligible for attaining the highest status of Brahmic bliss. This is the supreme type of Vairagya or stable Vairagya, as it is called.

Art and Artist...

PROFOUND EXCERPT, IT REPEATS SIDDHANTA FROM "SHREE LAKSHMI-TANTRA". THE EXCERPT IS FROM "KALYANA-KALPATARU", 1935, VOL.02 ("REALISATION THROUGH NATURE" ARTICLE BY VIDYANAND M.A.):

"Art hides as well as manifests its artist. Lower intellects see the art alone, and higher ones, the artist; but blessed are they who see the art in the Artist, and Artist in the art.

Nature is the art of God, and the Artist is hidden from our view. Our senses fail to grasp Him. Even intellect, our sovereign possession, retreats, and often, when it finds no relief, it proclaims, that there is no God.

But God appears to us through His art, Nature, and every flower, nay, every blade gives His glimpse.

There is a tendency to forget the artist in the art, but great is he who sees the artist in every art. He alone is the Seer; others are, at least, half blind.

There is nothing in the Universe which does not remind us of the Master-Artist, and, if this sense is not awakened in us, our imagination is too coarse".

Purer and purer from day to day...

By constant remembrance of God and repetition of His Names the impurities of the heart are gradually washed away and the heart becomes purer and purer from day to day.

When the heart has become pure and stainless, waves of Vairagya will naturally arise in the mind and the attraction for sense-objects will automatically vanish.

Just as a mirror is freed from dirt and becomes clearer and clearer as it is rubbed with cotton, even so the mind gets purified and illumined by constant remembrance of and meditation on the Lord, and the soul from within shines forth all the more brightly through it.

The following is the cite from one of The Tantras of Shreemati Durga-Devi. I am collecting greedily everything connected with sesame (तिल tila), because white sesame is widely used in Shree Lakshmi / Shree Durga / Shree Vishnu Archanas (black sesame is used also, but for destructive black magic).

Sesame  is the favourite food of Shreemati Durga-Devi and Purashcharana for The Mantra of Shreemati Durga-Devi must include 8000 homas with sesame as well as 8000 rounds of Shree Durga-Mantra:

Bina Tulasi Prabhu eka nahi mani...

One more great cite from "Shree SadhanAmrita-Chandrika", which is the cross-cite from "Shree Chaitanya-Bhagavata":

The gist in English: Bhagavan Shree Krishna never accepts Upacharas (wiki) without Shree Tulasi offering at first!

As you see "bina tulasi prabhu eka nahi mani" Verse from "Shree Tulasi-Arati" by Chandrasekhara Kavi is being cited, the entire Verse sounds in the following way:

dhupa, dipa, naivedya, arati,
phulana kiye varakha varakhani
chapanna bhoga, chatrisa byanjana,
bina tulasi prabhu eka nahi mani

Translation: "You (Shree Tulasi) engladden and shower Your Rain of Mercy upon one who offers You some incense, a ghee lamp, naivedya, and arati. The Lord does not care for even one of fifty-six varieties of cooked food or thirty-six different curries offered without Tulasi Leaves".

Gudakesha...

Hindi gloss on Arjuna "Gudakesha" epithet from "Shree Bhagavad-Gita, Verse 2.9:

And while searching in Google I have found the following brilliant explanation by A.C. BhaktiVedanta Swami Prabhupada, His Tika to The Verse 1.24 of "Shree Bhagavad-Gita":

BG 1.24, Purport: "In this verse Arjuna is referred to as Guḍākeśa. Guḍākā means sleep, and one who conquers sleep is called guḍākeśa.

Sleep also means ignorance.

So Arjuna conquered both sleep and ignorance because of his friendship with Kṛṣṇa.

As a great devotee of Kṛṣṇa, he could not forget Kṛṣṇa even for a moment, because that is the nature of a devotee.

Either in waking or in sleep, a devotee of the Lord can never be free from thinking of Kṛṣṇa's name, form, qualities and pastimes.

Thus a devotee of Kṛṣṇa can conquer both sleep and ignorance simply by thinking of Kṛṣṇa constantly. This is called Kṛṣṇa consciousness, or samādhi".

Prapatti Verses from "Shree Varaha-Purana" (in Sanskrit)...

Approximately 2 months ago I have published a post in English dedicated to "Nyasa-Yoga" (Prapatti) Verse from "Shree Varaha-Purana" - http://vishnudut1926.blogspot.ru/2017/02/prapatti-verses-from-shree-varaha-purana.html

This Verse is especially crucial for Shree Ramanuja-Sampradaya, because it is akin to Shree Varaha-Charama-Shloka and secures Moksha in just 1 life for Prapannas.

I have found this Verse in the Sanskrit Edition of "Shree-Varaha-Purana (link), it sounds in the following way (Chapter 142, Verse 62 in this English edition, but Verse 59 in this Sanskrit edition):

यस्यैतद् विदितं सर्वं न्यासयोगं वसुन्धरे |
योगे न्यस्य सदात्मानं मुच्यते न च संशयः ||
yasyaitad viditaM sarvaM nyAsayogaM vasundhare |
yoge nyasya sadAtmAnaM muchyate na cha saMshayaH ||

Translation: "But prapanna to whom Nyasa-Yoga (dedicating everything to Me) is known, gets Moksha, no doubt".

The entire excerpt in Sanskrit:

"Shree Varaha-Purana" (Sanskrit, with Adhyayas numbers embedded into bookmarks for easy search)

UPDATE FROM 23-FEB-2021: I have also added to my blog the ITRANS-Sanskrit version of all "Shree Varaha-Purana" 218 Chapters (searchable TXT-file, just 1.6 MB), please see THIS POST

DOWNLOAD (SANSKRIT, PDF-SCAN, 103MB):

English annotation by Vishnudut1926: This Sanskrit edition is great, but the numeration of Adhyayas is rather tricky.

I have embedded numbers of Adhyayas right into Bookmarks (can be seen via "CTRL+B" in most pdf-viewers), so everybody can find the necessary Adhyaya in a second.

I am using this Sanskrit scan in conjunction with English translation of "Shree Varaha-Purana" by Motilal Banasirdass (this one).

Please note, that some discrepancies are possible (for example, Verse 53 in Sanskrit edition maybe Verse 56 in English edition and etc.), but both Sanskrit and English scans are quite similar, so both scans are fit to be studied in conjunction.

If by means of Absolute Surrender one can attain The Grace of God, what is the need of performing the Dharmas?

Interesting article from "Kalyana-Kalpataru" dwelling on the problem "Leave or not to leave Dharma for the sake of Krishna as told in "Shree Bhagavad-Gita", 18.66?".

Shree Ramanuja MahAcharya left instructions about "not to leave" and about Sattvika-Tyaga, while other acharyas (Shankaracharya, MadhuSudana Saraswati, Shridhara Swami) wrote about "leaving Dharma".

This article dwells on this contradiction, the conclusion that both angles are valid, but Shree Ramanuja MahAcharya instructions are much safer and reasonable to follow.

Disinterestedly Merciful...

Surely it is no fault of God, who is extremely compassionate.

His Grace is ever flowing in an unending stream; it is so abundant that it transcends all our conception.

The Lord Himself says:
"Having known Me as The Disinterested Friend of all beings, My devotee attains peace." ("Shree Bhagavad-Gita", 5.29)
God is Disinterestedly Merciful. This is corroborated even by Lord Siva in the RamaCharitaManasa. He says:
"Uma, there is no such Well-Wisher as Shree Rama in this world — neither preceptor, nor father, nor mother, nor brother, nor master."
This human body has been vouchsafed to us by God in His Great Mercy. The RamaCharitaManasa says:
"Rarely does God, Who loves a jiva without any self-interest, graciously bestow on it a human form.”
In this way taking every occurrence as a propitious dispensation of God, we should feel supremely contented and rejoice.

We should feel His Compassion pervading everywhere and know Him to be Our Supreme Well-Wisher. Who is there so Rich and so Compassionate as He?

When we take refuge in Him we shall attain supreme tranquillity.

Ananda-Purita...

"Ananda-Purita" is very interesting expression, translating in English something like "filled with Ananda or overjoyed by Ananda". I have found this expression in Hindi-Sanskrit edition of "Shree Govinda-Lilamritam", Verse 22.1.

This Verse says how Radhika and Krishna go to sleep on the flower bed after being overjoyed ("ananda-purita") by various viharas (pastimes) such as lasya (dance), gayana (singing) and etc.

Shreemati Vrinda-Devi and Her Sakhis serve to Radhika and Krishna both during viharas and sleep:

2 new tracks on soundcloud...

Written today in about 40 minutes both, while playing with my favourite red metallic Washburn superstrat.

Track 01. "Sunflower from Goloka" - short indietronic piece - https://soundcloud.com/vishnudut1926/goloka-sunflowerexplanation-in-description-as-usually

Track 02. Small ambient piece in Cocteau Twins style, with epic guitar layers - https://soundcloud.com/vishnudut1926/evening-20170427-cocteau-twins-like-ambient-piece-explanation-in-description

From pink to incarnadine...

NICE SYMBOLISM IN THE BELOW EXCERPT. THE LAST SENTENCE STRESSES OUT THAT BHAGAVAN SHREE KRISHNA ETERNALLY PLAYS WITH HIS SHAKTIS (GOPIKAS).

AND BY THE WAY "INCARNADINE" MEANS "FLESHY COLOUR" IN ENGLISH, RATHER RARE WORD:

"Again, the roseate tenderness of the palms of Shri Krishna Child hands, tender as the fresh blown lotus, evokes a superb poetic conceit in Madhusudana, of yore, when Prahlada was tormented by his unnatural parent, moved by solicitude for His long suffering bhakta, He assumed the terrific Form of Nrsimha and lacerated with His fingers the stubborn bosom of the benighted Hiranyakasipu.

And the gore that spouted forth from his bosom did His hands incarnadine.

And this red of His palm was doubly rendered so, when with His tender palms He (Krishna) caressed, in love, the bosoms of the Gopis dyed with saffron!

And, wonder! The dye has come to stay forever in Krishna's Hands!"
